SPELLING CHAMPION

Some years ago, I taught a Year 7 boy who managed to get 100% on every spelling test undertaken throughout the year.  This prompted me to purchase a trophy to acknowledge his achievement.  His mother volunteered to provide a perpetual trophy and each year I would award a trophy to any child who could match his spelling record.
At the beginning of the year, I set a challenge for the students of Year 2......
I would purchase a medallion for any student who could achieve 100% on all spelling tests throughout the year.
For a while I thought I would have to buy a truck load of trophies!  Even last week there were still 3 students confident of winning a medallion.

Shared Reading

Shared reading took on a new meaning today, with students becoming the teacher and reading their own story to the class.
We are all very proud of the amazing stories that have been written and illustrated.

NEW Fat Rabbit book

Wayne Patterson has released the latest Fat Rabbit book, Fat Rabbit's Burp.
I visited Wayne and Lisa on the weekend to purchase the new book to share it with Year 2 this week.

Wayne and Lisa have given me another copy of the book to be won by one lucky Year 2 student!
All students will be eligible with one lucky winner to be drawn at random this week!

Life Cycle - Show 'n' Share

Nicolas brought along a diorama he had created that contained a chrysalis hanging on a branch.
Nicholas had included images of the life cycle of the moth that is going through a metamorphosis inside its cocoon. Great work!

Final Swimming Lesson

Swimming lessons were lots of fun again. It was amazing to see how much some students improved over the three weeks.

A Fishy Tale
